时间快转!

I'm soooooo not in the mood to study...T.T

I need my motivation back!!! Lost it after yesterday's Biotechnology paper >.<

Biochemical Regulation of Cell Function and Comparative Nutrition and Digestion, please do me some good and let me have a happy ending with both of you. I've been so kind to both of you this semester, I shall get some reward, shall I not?

Ok, finished ranting, mode changed. Be positive,be positive~ C'mon Biochem, c'mon Comp Nut, I'll fight to my last breath!!! I can do it!!

One of my exam songs,

Countdown: 16 days!

Yaaaaay~~~ Finished ALL my audio lectures~~~

Should start my revision now....not much time left! Jia you ano~! Don't worry papa mama, I'll face this exam super positively (hope so)!

Can't wait going back aa...suddenly thought of ban mian when listening to my biochemistry audio lecture just now...=.= (yes obviously I wasn't paying much attention~~=p). My must-eat-list is getting longer la...(in case you didn't know, I had problem falling asleep past few nights, so I wrote down a list of foods I want to eat when I'm back~). Wonder if my stomach and time allow me to achieve these targets....

The weather is just nice today~^^(I mean yesterday la~since it's already 2am now) It's about 16 degree now -16 degree in Spring, just lovely~^^ Heard from news that we ONLY reached 30 degree today~I didn't really feel the heat today - I guessed we did a great job ventilating the house last night~ As you know, Aus is a typical desert - the temperatures could range between 15/16C - 35C. By letting the cool air come in at night, and it isn't too hot during the day, it should be alright~ Will be 35 degree again on saturday....x.x Ah, did I mention before? I actually enjoy the not-too-cold weather during exam period - I don't have problem getting out of bed in the morning!! Another benefit of warm weather is that I lose my appetite eating choc...>.< Havne't been touching choc for days!!! Such a great achievement from me~*applause*

p/s: (just for fun) Countdown to Tenji - 17 days! ^^

It's food again~

Sorry, I can't resist~But, don't worry, probably my last food post before going back to m'sia~

We decided to celebrate fer's final week in uni in Dumpling Plus last Monday. As it was a celebration, we decided to order anything we would like to try~ (For your information, the words above are just some excuses for me being 败家~*shy shy*)
御用锅贴~It wasn't as oily as other fried pork dumplings leh~healthier perhaps? =p

The soup (or should it called the broth?) of 羊肉泡馍. I was a bit za dao when I tried the soup - it was just the same as the soup for 西北羊肉汤拉面...=.= The soup was as nice as always.

The 馍~it was SUPER THICK!

In comparison with chopstick... Taste wise - it was totally tasteless....lol~Yeah I know this is probably what it should be, but I would prefer some salty taste with it~As you know, I like pastries, or in this case, could easily deal with plain dough (e.g. plain bread, plain roll, plain pita bread, plain pretzel), but I really couldn't eat this plain....Did the ancient people eat these while they were travelling? Salute! I lose....>.<

韭菜盒子 we've been longing for~ 2 for $5.50! Oh my, I think you can buy a whole basket of chinese chives in Malaysia with RM 16.50. Anyway, we were like 豁出去 that day~Ok, now, the taste: it was SUPER OILY, I used 2 tissue paper to suck the oil. But the fillings weren't bad, and as I always do, I love the pastry~I even helped fer to finish her pastry~lol~

Lol, our table was so full that, according to fer fer, many of the patrons kept looking at us. They couldn't believe that both of us could finish all of them maybe? Geez, we did eventually finish everything! Ok la...we couldn't finish the 馍...
In total, this meal cost us $22.80~Quite reasonable to me la~I was happy with the food~

Last Saturday, pizza night at xiao gu's place~

Big Brothers Pizza - Bigga, Betta, Fresha~ In fact, their pizza was really bigger than normal ones!

First - the not-so-popular BBQ chicken. No one likes it besides Jono~So xiao gu only ordered half BBQ chicken, and no one knows what the other half was~

Capriciosa (not sure how they spell it) - a must for Jono~lol~I like it too!

No sure what is this...I think it's called the Lots. My opinion, the nicest~ Hmm, pizza would be one of the foods I would miss in Malaysia...

Nicely cut fruits - watermelon and melon~The melon was soooooo sweet, the watermelon became tasteless.....

The reason we went to xiao gu's place? Uncle Lou bought Jonathan a Nintendo Wii.....=.= You know Nintendo Wii? Neh...ok, I can't describe, go google yourself~ We had fun playing those stupid games~^^ I was so talented, even Jonathan praised me~~weeee~~The video below was taken when they were playing cycling game~

That's all for this post~Bye~^^

Spring flowers

This post is all about flowers, but sorry, due to my limited knowledge on botany, I can't name any one of them~

I love this flower! They look gorgeous, don't they?

Their colours remind me of bee - yellow + black

This photo was taken in a windy day, so you could see the 花瓣 isn't in a nice shape, sorry~

This plant is quite interesting, its leaves look like the leaves of Heaven Bird, and its flower is almost transparent~

A super humongous yellow flower - an obese flower~

Ahhh...it has a very pretty colour....Sorry, this is all my camera could do >.<

Another humongous yellow flower~And its siblings~

The flower outside my room~Pretty~(just like me~*shy*)

A pretty ordinary flower

Its colour reminds me of icecream - something like strawberry/raspberry vanilla swirl~

Another humongous flower

And in comparison with my fist
And its siblings. So I made a conclusion - they all have obese gene.

Some fansy-looking flower~

Food entry

I just noticed that I haven't been posting much pictures lately...As I'm trying to procrastinate, here you go, FOOOOOOOOOODS in Melbourne for this one and a half month!

Fried egg with tomato at China Bar. Had this one and a half month ago, so I forgot the price, but I guess around $8. Yes, I know you could buy dozens of eggs and tomato in Malaysia for RM24, but read from internet that this dish is really good...I decided to give it a try and it didn't let me down~^^ Ahh, that was the first time I didn't order 黄焖羊肉面 in China Bar!

Fer's 海南鸡饭 @ China Bar. She loves it!

Plain pretzel, from Pretzel World. $2.80 if I'm not mistaken. Bought it after finishing my large biotech in modern society assignment. Umm, it was quite fresh, and I love its unique texture~Since it was plain (because you need to pay more for other flavour/sauce), I could taste its original taste, I wouldn't say YUM, but yeah, not bad.

Pastizzi~ Before and after~ 御用锅贴 at 中华名小吃 (Dumpling Plus)~10 pieces for $8.50. The best 锅贴 I had in Melbourne after 渔乡阁~Quite a huge portion with reasonable price.

羊肉火烧饼, at Dumpling Plus, $5. We were expecting something flat instead of round in shape lol~Anyway, the skin was a bit too thick (and I love it), and the lamb inside, err, not that good (to me).

西北羊肉汤拉面(手工拉面) at Dumpling Plus, $8.80. Awww we loveeee this! Imagine you having this in a cold weather...It consists of lamb (a generous portion of lamb!), sesame, mushrooms, 木耳, vege and 香菜 (=.= the only bad guy in the noodles!). Probably because it's handmade, the noodles wouldn't become too soggy even though it has been soaked in the soup for a long time. Painfully, painfully good.

小笼包 at Dumpling Plus, I guess aroudn $6/7/8. We ordered this in our second visit to Dumpling Plus. The first xiao long bao I've ever tried in Melbourne! (because xiao long bao are usually more expensive compared to dumplings). They were tasty - the fillings were VERY juicy and fresh, the soup inside didn't taste "porky" (I wonder if I use the correct word? =p) and the thickness of the skin was just good! I really enjoyed them~

Next will be dim sum in Shark Fin Inn. Don't worry papa mama, although they are famous of sharkfin, we did not order any sharkfin/crabs/oyster/lobster~But still, 2 of us spent $50~*blush*皮蛋瘦肉粥. A must for fer fer in yum cha~

烧卖. Sorry, this is what you will get when taking photos with a crappy 2.0 megapixel camera (a.k.a my mobile phone~). I know they don't look tasty, but believe me, they are as fresh and juicy as you can imagine~

虾饺. Same as siu mai, a must in yum cha....Can you see how 晶莹剔透 the skin is? and the prawns were reallly fresh! Oh, and they add some bamboo shoots, to make it more "crispy" I suppose?
韭菜饺. Haven't seen this stuff for quite some time. Tastes good as well!

带子豆腐. A bit too oily too me, but oh gosh, the scallops were sinfully huge and fresh.

A close-up of the scallop~*drooling*

虾肠粉. You can see how big the prawns are. I was sick of prawn then. so 折堕~

奶黄包~Our absolute favorite in yum cha!

My beloved Calamariiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Fried dish with prawn. The prawns were really huge. As I told you, I was sick of prawn that day.....=.=

And we finished off our sumptouos lunch with egg tarts~I would love to order another one, but this was their last serve....T.T

Croissant with ham + cheese. Ohhh~~~~~

Pecan danish~The pastry wasn't that great (to me, as I would like it to be more fluffy), and the sugar coat at the top just spoiled the whole flavour, so I usually strip off the sugar coating before eating~Ahh, I love the custard fillings!

I understand that your fingers must be tired scrolling down this long post. Be patient, last group of photos: celebrated ed's birthday in oriental spoon - a japanese/korean restaurant.Seafood casserole. The soup itself would be enough for me to finish my rice~lol~

Some side dishes came along with the seafood casserole. The 泡菜 was fabulous!

The super super impressive sweet chilli chicken! Actually I wasn't keen at "sweet chilli", but ed insisted that this dish is really famous. Ohh oooh, it was really delicious! My first thought was that papa would like to eat this with his beer if they have it in Malaysia~The skin was crispy, but the meat was still juicy, and the texture of the meat was just great - not overcooked nor undercooked. Regarding the sweet chilli sauce, the reason I don't like sweet chilli sauce was that they are either too sweet or too spicy, and spoiling the taste of the dish. But their sweet chilli was just balance in every aspect! BRAVO! Simply the best I've ever had. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Oriental Spoon, if you have extra $30 to pay for this~Yes, it's quite pricy, but believe me, it worths it!

p/s: next post will be spring photos~
