Food entry

I just noticed that I haven't been posting much pictures lately...As I'm trying to procrastinate, here you go, FOOOOOOOOOODS in Melbourne for this one and a half month!

Fried egg with tomato at China Bar. Had this one and a half month ago, so I forgot the price, but I guess around $8. Yes, I know you could buy dozens of eggs and tomato in Malaysia for RM24, but read from internet that this dish is really good...I decided to give it a try and it didn't let me down~^^ Ahh, that was the first time I didn't order 黄焖羊肉面 in China Bar!

Fer's 海南鸡饭 @ China Bar. She loves it!

Plain pretzel, from Pretzel World. $2.80 if I'm not mistaken. Bought it after finishing my large biotech in modern society assignment. Umm, it was quite fresh, and I love its unique texture~Since it was plain (because you need to pay more for other flavour/sauce), I could taste its original taste, I wouldn't say YUM, but yeah, not bad.

Pastizzi~ Before and after~ 御用锅贴 at 中华名小吃 (Dumpling Plus)~10 pieces for $8.50. The best 锅贴 I had in Melbourne after 渔乡阁~Quite a huge portion with reasonable price.

羊肉火烧饼, at Dumpling Plus, $5. We were expecting something flat instead of round in shape lol~Anyway, the skin was a bit too thick (and I love it), and the lamb inside, err, not that good (to me).

西北羊肉汤拉面(手工拉面) at Dumpling Plus, $8.80. Awww we loveeee this! Imagine you having this in a cold weather...It consists of lamb (a generous portion of lamb!), sesame, mushrooms, 木耳, vege and 香菜 (=.= the only bad guy in the noodles!). Probably because it's handmade, the noodles wouldn't become too soggy even though it has been soaked in the soup for a long time. Painfully, painfully good.

小笼包 at Dumpling Plus, I guess aroudn $6/7/8. We ordered this in our second visit to Dumpling Plus. The first xiao long bao I've ever tried in Melbourne! (because xiao long bao are usually more expensive compared to dumplings). They were tasty - the fillings were VERY juicy and fresh, the soup inside didn't taste "porky" (I wonder if I use the correct word? =p) and the thickness of the skin was just good! I really enjoyed them~

Next will be dim sum in Shark Fin Inn. Don't worry papa mama, although they are famous of sharkfin, we did not order any sharkfin/crabs/oyster/lobster~But still, 2 of us spent $50~*blush*皮蛋瘦肉粥. A must for fer fer in yum cha~

烧卖. Sorry, this is what you will get when taking photos with a crappy 2.0 megapixel camera (a.k.a my mobile phone~). I know they don't look tasty, but believe me, they are as fresh and juicy as you can imagine~

虾饺. Same as siu mai, a must in yum cha....Can you see how 晶莹剔透 the skin is? and the prawns were reallly fresh! Oh, and they add some bamboo shoots, to make it more "crispy" I suppose?
韭菜饺. Haven't seen this stuff for quite some time. Tastes good as well!

带子豆腐. A bit too oily too me, but oh gosh, the scallops were sinfully huge and fresh.

A close-up of the scallop~*drooling*

虾肠粉. You can see how big the prawns are. I was sick of prawn then. so 折堕~

奶黄包~Our absolute favorite in yum cha!

My beloved Calamariiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Fried dish with prawn. The prawns were really huge. As I told you, I was sick of prawn that day.....=.=

And we finished off our sumptouos lunch with egg tarts~I would love to order another one, but this was their last serve....T.T

Croissant with ham + cheese. Ohhh~~~~~

Pecan danish~The pastry wasn't that great (to me, as I would like it to be more fluffy), and the sugar coat at the top just spoiled the whole flavour, so I usually strip off the sugar coating before eating~Ahh, I love the custard fillings!

I understand that your fingers must be tired scrolling down this long post. Be patient, last group of photos: celebrated ed's birthday in oriental spoon - a japanese/korean restaurant.Seafood casserole. The soup itself would be enough for me to finish my rice~lol~

Some side dishes came along with the seafood casserole. The 泡菜 was fabulous!

The super super impressive sweet chilli chicken! Actually I wasn't keen at "sweet chilli", but ed insisted that this dish is really famous. Ohh oooh, it was really delicious! My first thought was that papa would like to eat this with his beer if they have it in Malaysia~The skin was crispy, but the meat was still juicy, and the texture of the meat was just great - not overcooked nor undercooked. Regarding the sweet chilli sauce, the reason I don't like sweet chilli sauce was that they are either too sweet or too spicy, and spoiling the taste of the dish. But their sweet chilli was just balance in every aspect! BRAVO! Simply the best I've ever had. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Oriental Spoon, if you have extra $30 to pay for this~Yes, it's quite pricy, but believe me, it worths it!

p/s: next post will be spring photos~
