Just finished watching "An Inconvenient Truth", casted by Al Gore, US ex-vice president. An award winning documentary (I think it's Oscar....). Al Gore was cool~mama said he is a famous environmentalist? Sorry, never heard of him before~ The movie was about climate change. Miracle! I didn't fall asleep throughout the 95 minutes!! So you can tell that it was actually quite interesting....At least better than my Introduction to Climate Change lectures....And actually I had intention to become an environmentalist when I was watching~only a short moment la....
The movie actually was a speech given by Al Gore (he has been giving the speech all around the world to raise public awareness of climate change)with some features (like his son's serious accident, his sister's death in lung cancer, and his presidential election). Seems like the climate change topic is getting hotter~ Greenland's ice shield is melting much more rapidly than scientists predicted. And also retreat of glaciers......not only serious floods and droughts, but also hurricanes and tornados, have been occuring all over the world. Eiyer....this is the earth we are living in.....Ohoh, can't believe Australia is one of the two advanced countries in the world that have not ratified Kyoto Protocol~(obviously US is the other one....)
This movie makes me more interested in climate change. Maybe I shouldn't sleep in tomorrow Intro Climate Change lecture.....~^^
p/s: forgot to mention, can't believe yesterday was my first time to SEE Crown Casino after coming to Melbourne for more than 5 months.....Yeah, I mean see, we actually just passed by~ Oh, and had Vietnamese food for dinner last night~^^
